2nd Primary Source
The document on the left says militarism is at the core of the origins of World War I. The concept of militarism is to emphasize on the military aspect of a nation. The French army along with the German army had doubled between 1870 and 1914, and there was a huge competition between Britain and Germany. From 1910 to 1914, Germany had increased military expenditure by 73%, clearly preparing for war. France had a growing pre-war militarism. It led WWI in Europe. Also the video on the right shows that Britain had a great navy, and Germany wanted a great navy too. These countries were compete each other of their militarism. When more nation built up army and navy then the more other nations felt they had to do the same thing. What I learned from this article is in many years European countries had increased military for preparing the war.
3rd Primary Source
The document on the left side shows the alliances. It says the alliances of Germany made up Central Power, which included Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. The picture on the middle shows Europe in 1914, the Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy team up as Triple Alliance, and the Britain, France, and Russia team up as Triple Entente. What I learned from this document is the alliance is really important during WWI, because if the countries didn't team up then they will be defeated and their country will be taken away. Then the video on the right also shows the alliances. It's basically showing who are the Triple Alliance and Triple Entente.
